Fattoria Grimana has been owned by the Lotto’s Family from the XIX century. At that time families cultivated mulberry plants, grape vines, hemp plants and tobacco. Moreover Apulian bovines and Alpine Brown were bred.
The farm was renovated in 2000 in accordance with the bio-architecture parameters. The old brick and stone walls as well as different materials have been preserved: the terracotta paving, wood, iron, Vicenza white stone. Besides, natural substances, such as beeswax, vegetal resins, lime and latex paint were used as treatments. The solar panels on the roof provide the total amount of energy consumed by the farm. In addition, they generate warm water.
Nowadays, our grape vineyards produce excellent grapes for our wines: Grimaner and Prosecco DOC. In addition, our orchard produces delicious fruits that you can eat directly from the trees and it is the first ingredient of our natural jams. We produce olive oil Laudo, which is an excellent type of cold pressed olive extra virgin oil.
You will retrace the history of our family on our wine cellar-museum that displays memories of the past: family life, tools and machines used in the farmhouse at the end of the 19th century – beginning of the 20th century. Different areas are represented: grapes and wine, milk and cheese, the blacksmith and the carpenter, irrigations tools and measurement tools, the house and the housework of the past.
